The Dutch Coffee Championships will have a new venue this coming season. The first competitions will take place in November during Rotterdam Coffee Fest; the remaining rounds will follow in January at Horecava. Registration is open, but don’t wait too long: there’s only room for 12 to 32 participants per category.
SCA Netherlands has opened registration for the 2026–2027 competition season. This time, the organization is splitting the Dutch Coffee Championships between Rotterdam Coffee Fest and Horecava. The entry fee is €125 per registration.
If you want to secure a spot on the podium, you’ll have to act fast. A maximum of 12, 16, or 32 spots are available for the various championships. You can register through SCA Netherlands’ channels.
The competition season kicks off on November 7 and 8, 2026, at De Doelen in Rotterdam. This is the first time the Dutch Coffee Championships will be part of Rotterdam Coffee Fest.
SCA Netherlands will have its own separate hall at the event. Admission to the competitions there is free. On Saturday, the latte art competitors will take the stage; Sunday will focus on identifying flavor differences during the Cup Tasters Championship.
In January, the competition stage will move to RAI Amsterdam. Once again this season, Horecava will serve as the venue for the Barista Championship and the Brewers Cup.
During the Open Service, participants choose their own coffee and present it to the judges. In the Compulsory Service, participants work under the same conditions using coffee provided by the organization. This way, the focus is as much as possible on their skills as brewers.
Alpro is sponsoring the competitions at the Rotterdam Coffee Fest. In addition, SCA Netherlands is organizing the Alpro Art Bar – Latte Art Challenge there. This public competition is separate from the official Dutch championship. Visitors and followers can vote for their favorite latte art creation via social media.
The participation fee for this season is €125 per registration. Rising costs for venues, technology, logistics, and materials are the reason for the fixed fee.
The organization is a nonprofit and is run by volunteers. With this contribution, SCA Netherlands aims to ensure that the national championships remain financially viable in the long term.
