Zo zijn er bijvoorbeeld constant rechtszaken over het gebruik van de naam Kona. Bovendien wordt er door de hoge waarde van de Kona bonen vaak gesjoemeld met de labels van de zakken en is je pakje Kona bonen vaak geen pure Kona.
